How do we learn spiritual things?

John 6: 45 It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught by God.' Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. 1 John 2:27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. Galatians 1:11 But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. 12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ. I would rather the Holy Spirit / God teach me, rather than any person.  People can get things wrong. Why do most main-stream Christians seem to cringe at what I just said?  They assume I am rebellious and unsubmitted to authority.  But the scriptures are clear that we all can be taught directly from God.  So, why do so many turn to Pastors, church leaders, and authors of Christian books to teach them?  They spend more time listening, studying, and reading other people's teachings or interpretation of scripture?  Why not go directly to the Bible - taking God at His word, that He will teach all things, only the truth, not lies or error?  If you seek the truth, trust God to give it to you.
